Sensory Processing Disorder

Animation

Inspired by the glory days of UPA Animation, I set out with this piece to simplify a sensitive topic, that being the growing awareness of something called Sensory Processing Disorder in the healthcare community.

The idea here was to aim a simple, yet engaging approach to explaining the disorder, specifically with the parents of recently diagnosed children in mind, as well as the children themselves. It needed to be accessible, relatable and understandable. UPA animation I felt was a great source of inspiration for this type of video, because of it's bright aesthetic and relatable, stylish approach of depicting slice-of-life stories that are widely relatable.

This piece was influenced greatly by animator Ryan Summers, as a direct mentor for the project.
