Typographic Poster

One of my two entries in AIGA Jacksonville's Always Summer Poster Show 2015.

This image is inspired by the song "The Legend of Chavo Guerrero" by The Mountain Goats, in which the singer details his enduring childhood love of his professional wrestling idol Chavo Guerrero.

I took visual cues from vintage wrestling and boxing posters of the day, as well as publications related to ring sports. I myself grew up with an affinity for professional wrestling (in spite of it's many troublesome flaws) so this was a natural choice for me.
